Highlights of Summer '05

Our Harry Potter event was a howling success.

Singer/Songwriter Mark Burrows was here June 14, 2005. He did Storytime in the morning and performed a free concet at 6:30 PM.


Also in June, Kim Danger was here to sign copies of her new book, 1,000 Best Baby Bargains - great ideas for ways for parents with young children to save money.


Our crew was ready for A Taste of Dorset!

August 7, 2005 - the annual 'A Taste of Dorset'

 


 

"Walk the main street of Dorset for all kinds of food, entertainment, games and socializing in a town square-like atmosphere. Food is served from 11:30 AM until 3:00 PM. Shuttle rides available on Hwy. 226."

We made 150 smoothies during
the Taste of Dorset - whew!



August 25, 2005 - Winona LaDuke was here for a reading from her new book, "Recovering the Sacred." She signed copies of the book and promoting Muskrat Coffee as well.

LaDuke lives on the White Earth Reservation in Minnesota. She is the Founding Director of the White Earth Land Recovery Project. She has twice run for vice-president of the United States on the Green Party ticket with Ralph Nader. In 1997, she was a Ms Woman of the year.

September 3, 2005 - Nate Jorgenson was here signing copies of his book, "Waiting for White Horses." Jorgenson's book is set in Minnesota's spectacular lake country, and is a story of trusted friendship, loss and recovery, love and redemption. Jorgenson lives in Minnesota.


 

September 4, 2005 - Dorothy Williams was here signing copies of "Yonder and Other Delights." Williams has had a place called Yonder on Palmer Lake for many years. The essays in her book were originally printed in the Christian Science Monitor. Now retired, Williams was a writer and editor for the Search Institute.

Storytime 2005

kids love storytime!

We love storytime!

Children (and a parent or caregiver) are invited to Storytime in our Wolf Den at 10 AM the third Tuesday of the month, May through September.
We'll read books, have activities, and serve each child a complementary small smoothie.
